Nashville, TN - Popular singer, songwriter, author and talk show host, Janet Paschal was honored this week by the Gospel Music Association with the 2010 Dove Award nomination for Southern Gospel Album of the Year for her latest recording entitled Treasure, released on the Vine Records label, distributed by Crossroads Entertainment and produced by multi-Dove Award winning producer, Wayne Haun. Paschal was among the Top Five when the nominees were announced on February 18 in Nashville, TN.
The 41st Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at Nashville's famed Grand Ole Opry and will be televised nationwide on GMC on Sunday, April 25, 2010, at 8:00pm (EST), with Awards being presented in 43 categories. Paschal's Dove Award nomination announcement comes on the heels of her Christian Music Hall of Fame and Museum 2010 Visionary Award nominations for Inspirational Female Vocalist of the Year, Female Entertainer of the Year and Southern Gospel Female Vocalist of the Year, which were also announced this week. With more than a dozen recordings to her credit, Paschal's passion and vulnerability are most evident in her inspiring music. After battling breast cancer in 2005, the popular vocalist resumed her touring schedule, including concerts, women's conferences and cancer events. In conjunction with the release of Paschal's Dove nominated recording, Treasure, the prolific writer released her second book, Treasures Of The Snow, which chronicles her triumphant battle with cancer and stories from three decades in Gospel music.
