NCM WEEKEND 1-2 MAR 08STOP PRESS!... BIG NEWS!!COMMENDATIONS: NCM WEEKEND 2008 NCM WEEKEND/ 1-2 MAR 08/PHOTOS A DVD of nearly 200 photos of the 2008 NCM Awards Weekend is available for sale at only £25 (including postage). This includes stage appearances, award presentations, plus informal moments. (see "NCM WEEKEND/ 1-2 MAR 08/PHOTOS" on www.newmusicenterprises.com ) MEDIA QUOTE BY THE ORGANISER: "The New Christian Music (NCM) Awards Weekend showcased a gold-mine of different styles of music from jazz, soul, pop, country, folk to gospel, something for all tastes. Where else would you be able to see 50 inspiring acts in one weekend? With an aggregate weekend audience of about six hundred, a great atmosphere was fostered particularly when the Radio Mike Awards were presented by TV host, George Hamilton IV (International Ambassador of Country Music) visiting from Nashville, Tennesseee. Several people commented how impressed they were with the way the whole event held together and how gifted was the musical talent on display. A big thanks goes to visiters from USA, Sweden, Holland, Africa, Pakistan etc.,. and to the Leighton Christian Fellowship for hosting the event. It has really put the quaint market-town of Leighton Buzzard on the musical map. We are all looking forward to next year's event." PAUL DAVIS (Chairman of the UKCMA) It was an excellent NCM Weekend, and great to meet and listen to so many other people using their gifts to serve God. It was very well organised and we were very impressed with the sound engineer who got a good sound for all the different groups and individuals - not an easy job. CATHY WHEELER (NORTHAMPTON, ENGLAND) How honoured (& surprised) I was to receive my Radio Mike Award certificate through the post. Again, I`m so sorry not to have been able to attend the NCM WEEKEND event especially since I would have been receiving this from the hands of my dear friend & brother in Christ, George Hamilton IV. I feel quite humbled to have been included in such an array of talent as was assembled there (some might even think, if not actually say, "...far too good for a banjo player...") so I accept this from you secure in the knowledge that without Love flowing through me, I am indeed no more than a noise. Thanks again & God Bless you in your NCM work for Him. Alastair McDonald (GLASGOW, SCOTLAND) What a wonderful blessing it was for me to be a part of the NCM Weekend and to be a part of the UKCMA. The fellowship was great! What a tremendous group of talented and gifted servants of the Lord. I was able to see a lot of people that I love and admire over the time that Dave Clemo and I had there. Thank you, the radio presenters and the fans for the award. It is an honor that I will give to the Lord Jesus for Him allowing me the glorious privilege of serving Him in such a way with such wonderful friends and family in the household of faith. I will display it in the studio. I look forward to hearing and fellowshipping with all the participants through e-mail jerry@jamworks.us. I also look forward to next year's NCM event. I’m sure that it will continue to grow even stronger in the Lord. Thank you the NCM staff and LCF family for such a grand job and service to the kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.Your eternal friend and brother in the Lord Jesus, JERRY ARHELGER (NASHVILLE, TENNESSSEEE, USA) Thank you Paul and all the LCF team and UKCMA techs who made this event (our first!) such a blessing to all who attended! We’ll certainly be back again next time! What a great diversity of styles and experiences – the thing that stood out the most was the love of Our Lord Jesus being expressed by everyone (performers and otherwise!) The whole event was an encouragement to us and we pray that this ministry which is NCM may continue to grow from strength to strength! Blessings to you all! Steve Bradley, Kev Pearce and Anne Mee (Imaginary Friend/ Leicester, ENGLAND)) I would just like to say thank you very much for allowing my participation at the NCM Weekend along with Michael, Adel and myself. A very special thank you to Lou Lollio, for allowing to share the stage with him and back him on I Saw The Light and other composition. I feel I have made a new friend along the way also with Jean Watson. Many thanks to George Hamilton IV for his inspirational comments about my music. A very special big thank you to Jean Watson, who's music has blessed me no end since I arrived back up here. Janet played and ministered at my home church of Skipton Christian Fellowship on the Monday after NCM weekend. Also I had the blessed honour of sharing the stage at Skipton with Jean on three of her songs as she requested I go get my Guitar and back her. Needless to say I was out like a shot and back with my trusty Strat. I have really felt blessed and anointed with what has taken place last weekend all praise and glory to JESUS. Only HE can bring about the anointing what was experienced in such and awesome weekend. GOD willing I look forward to next year and hope to see you all then. MARTIN DAWSON (YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND) What a blessing you all are to world of Christian Music. I came a long way to receive a huge blessing from your hard work and effort to further the Kingdom of God through Jesus our Lord and the music shared at the NCM Radio Mike Awards. And then to receive an award on top of that was just incredible. I really enjoyed the Spirit of the event and the love of the artists towards one another. I have been in many situations and this was a true blessing for me. The Lord Jesus has His hand on your ministry and LCF Church. Great job to all of you. To spread the Gospel is an honor and command. Send me. George Hamilton IV was such a blessing to me and I am sure many others. The music was wonderful. Keep up the good work. Paul behind every good man is a great woman like Hazel. God is good. Many blessings, LOU LOLLIO (CALIFORNIA, USA) I sure wish I could have come to the NCM Weekend event in Leighton Buzzard and met you and Wes Davis but circumstances would not allow but I pray God will get me over there for music in the near future. Thanks for the NCM Radio Mike achievement award that I keep them on the wall in my living room. BOBBY SMITH (FLORIDA, USA) Had a great time at the NCM Weekend. Thank you so much for what you all did to make it the success it was. Really appreciated. Looking forward to next year's.Blessings, KEN EAVES/Flame Radio (LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND) That was our first time at the NCM Awards Weekend and it was wonderful in every way. Each artiste contributed something unique in their own way but we also met up with some great new people and reconnected with many long-time friends that we had not seen for some time. What a fantastic reunion in such an atmosphere of praise and worship! Thanks everyone ....and especially for my wife Liz's Radio Mike Award in coming out of retirement! SYD & LIZ DOYLE / International Evangelists (NORTH CAROLINA) Thank You so much for your encouragement. I would love to come back to the NCM Weekend next year as I found it to be a very positive and uplifting atmosphere - I was blessed by the other performers too and the speakers - if I come back next year I intend to stay for the full weekend! MARVA NELSON (YORKSHIRE, ENGLAND) Hello to everyone at Leighton Christian Fellowship thanks for a blessed weekend at the NCM awards. It was a joy to be with people who shine for Christ and are using their God given gifts too for Kingdom work. I have joined the UKCMA AND had a great weekend at the NCM Radio Mike Awards in Leighton Buzzard. Thank You Lord and all who helped and organised. God bless! JAMES BELL (CRAIGAVON NORTHERN IRELAND) Just to say that we are so sorry to miss the NCM Awards Weekend. We couldn't make it this year. I hope the event was a smashing success for you! We are heading across the Atlantic later this year. VONNIE & WOODY WRIGHT/Gaither Homecoming Friends (INDIANA, USA) We'd like to thank you for the NCM Weekend event. It was great to be in the presence of so many great musicians, and enjoy the fellowship of all whom we met. So thanks for all your input into it... it was also good to finally meet you! We have already pencilled in the 2009 dates for the weekend and we are coming back later in the year to worship with you all at LCF.David MCLEAN & JOHN WILSON / aLive Ministry (SCOTLAND) Thanks for a great NCM Weekend. It was good to see such a vast range of Christian music talent. It was a great joy to be part of a wonderful weekend of worship and fellowship and good to have the opportunity to share about the work of Smile International during one of the evening sermonettes. Congratulations to everyone who made the weekend such a great success. May the Lord continue to bless you as you promote good Christian music in the days that lie ahead. CLIVE DOUBLEDAY / Smile International (KENT, ENGLAND) Thank you for a wonderful UKCMA festival in Leighton Buzzard, England. My home-town newspaper has already interviewed me, and are wanting a picture of me accepting my NCM Radio Mike Award certificate from George Hamilton IV, and the picture where we were all on stage together after I had given you the plaque. Everyone here is so excited for me for this great honor. The week-end was one I will never forget!! ... Things have been going really fast here! My town paper published a huge article and picture of me after I got home. To see it just type in www.standard-democrat.com front page! JUDY LEIGH (SIKESTON, MO. USA) We both really enjoyed the NCM Weekend. There was some great music and such a variety too and whole thing was great encouragement and was a blessed time. SUE & WES DAVIS /Worship Leader, Vineyard Fellowship, (AYLESBURY, ENGLAND) From the bottom of my heart - thank you. I have waited a day or two before sending this to you because I wanted to allow the full depth of my appreciation to sink in and be felt before I actually pass that on to you. Paul, you blessed me without even knowing it. Your humble spirit and warm heart touched me deeply. I saw Jesus reflected in you. Hazel, what can I say, the woman behind the man, you too blessed me with your warm smile and open heart. What treasures you are to the Lord. The whole weekend was amazing. We met some lovely people. Our hearts and spirits got stirred and where we have at times felt quite alone in some areas it's been good to meet with fellow Christians who are out there doing Gods work, just as we are. What an encouragement! Hopefully we will be with you all again next year. In the meantime, God bless you both with an abundance of His awesome presence in your lives. GWEN WILLS (ESSEX, ENGLAND) This was our first visit to the NCM Weekend - It was a real pleasure to have fellowship with such a talented, spirit filled group of artists. As someone who has been in the Christian music arena for many years it was a blessing to see how the communication with others from around the world was shared through the international language of music. As UKCMA Directory Secretary, it was easy to talk to people and get them interested in joining when they saw the benefits from interacting with such a diverse, focused group of people who were committed to using their talents for promoting the Lord's work. We can honestly say we enjoyed every part of the week end. Thanks to Paul & LCF Team for the encouragement & support of everyone. May the Lord continue to bless the NCM & UKCMA work to promote the artists. DIANA CAUSTON / Crossways Music (SOUTHEND, ENGLAND) Having just had two full days in London with Mission India meetings, etc, I have now drawn breath and wanted to say thank you all for the wonderful weekend in Leighton Buzzard. What an incredible amount of work you, and others, put in to making the event happen. I felt it was a privilege to be there and hear the music and stories of such a great bunch of people. Thanks for your very significant ministry in the gospel music arena, and for organising this weekend. TIM CUTTING/Director - Mission India(UK) (MILTON KEYNES, ENGLAND) Hello My friend. We really enjoyed the weekend. It was so much better than last year, but still had the same friendly feeling. CATHY & ANDY HUMPHRIES FAMILY (LEIGHTON BUZZARD, ENGLAND) We had a fantastic time - totally absorbed with the amazing music that rang out from the Vandyke School auditorium!, there was such a richness and diversity of music, so much talent together under one roof, everybody performed so professionally with their God-given talents, it was incredible to experience such a cultural exchange with musicians and singer/songwriters from around the world. Highlights for me included performances from John Wilson, Matt Giles and Jean Watson. Who could fail to appreciate the talents of all the NCM artists? The event could only be rivalled from the same the previous year, however, this year was special and I predict it'll probably snowball in successive years!- thank you to you and all the team who've spent countless hours organising the NCM Radio Mic awards, I shall certainly be looking forward to next year. DARREN MANGOLD/BBC RADIO (NOTTINGHAM, ENGLAND) Greetings to you from this side of “the pond”. You have quite a line-up for March 1 – 2 NCM Weekend ... May the Lord be honored as you worship Him! DELL MOORE (Executive Admin. Assistant) CLIFF BARROWS (Vice Chairman, BGEA) Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA, USA) What we enjoyed over the NCM Weekend confirmed and also testified of the sort of talents and gifting the LORD is preparing for the revival work in the UK and worldwide to the Church/Body of Christ. Like everybody else, I sincerely pray that the LORD will continue to use you and the team as HE desires and according to HIS Divine plan. As for me and my family you can always count on our involvement and you may place us wherever OUR Creator directs you to. Please congratulate all the others on your team. ... I thought I'd also let you know the NCM Weekend has produced a positive outcome for me. (I got a positive response from a publisher) ... Thank you... God Bless ANNETTE BORRILL /Poet(BOSTON, ENGLAND (Pastor) Ben and I wanted to let you know that we were knocked out by the worship concerts which we were able to enjoy on Saturday at Leighton Buzzard. The quality of the artists was terrific and the genres of music showcased so varied, yet so wonderfully full of Christ. We were very sorry that we weren't able to attend on Sunday as well but, you can be assured that next year, we won't miss a second! A huge congratulatory round of applause to all those involved - their hard work and dedication was evident. God Bless. PAUL WATKINS (FRINTON FREE CHURCH, ESSEX, ENGLAND) Paul and Team - just wanted to say how much we enjoyed the NCM weekend. It was terrific! What wonderful artists and speakers you assembled. Frances and I talked about the weekend most of the way home! There were many singers we really loved and appreciated (like Lawson Spiller - and Jean Watson). Wow what gifted people and amazing voices! All dedicated and with servant hearts. And dear George Hamilton - still singing beautifully and chatting along- same vintage as Elvis.... There were so many good things about the weekend Paul and we commend you and the whole team for the fantastic efforts you made. I know you give the glory to God but a hearty hug and pat on the back- every year can see improvement and year 3 - will be even better! And please - tell me the dates early so I can get them in the diary & tell others about the event. PETER HONOUR (EVANGELIST/ KENT , ENGLAND) Thank you for the most wonderful weekend. You and your team are to be congratulated on all your hard work and dedication. It really paid off. David and I thought that the talent was exceptional and we got to meet so many lovely people. Several people very willingly agreed to 'donate' a version of GARDEN OF FORGIVENESS and one person I really wanted to have on board actually approached me. I tended to concentrate on the people who were on flying visits, so 'local' artists can still expect to hear from me. Elaine Christian did a great job and I am grateful to her for being the first person to 'donate' a version of the song. David had an interesting chat with Kate of AG and Kate and will be contacting her by Email. He is a volunteer at Canterbury Prison where he helps prisoners with literacy problems. He also represents The Shannon Trust (www.shannontrust.com), a charity that encourages prisoners who can read to teach those who can't, using a book called TOE BY TOE. We noticed that several of the artists give their time to help prisoners. Thank you once again, SUSAN GERMANEY/Songwriter(KENT, ENGLAND) Good people of UKCMA and NCM: I have just had an incredible surprise in the form of a NCM Radio Mike Award 2008 certificate.
